Led by Chef de Cuisine Sujatha Asokan, with the concept helmed by Melbourne’s acclaimed two-hatted chef Victor Liong, Quenino offers a thoughtful take on the region’s culinary heritage. Here, tradition is honoured, not repeated. Flavours are bold yet precise, textures layered with intention, and spice used as a lens through which complexity is revealed—not just felt.

The current menu is a celebration of rediscovery—elevating overlooked ingredients and childhood favourites into refined, expressive plates. It’s fun, it’s personal, and it’s unmistakably Southeast Asian—told through the eyes of a new generation.

Sujatha Asokan

Chef de Cuisine

Chef Sujatha, affectionately known as Chef Su, has a culinary passion deeply rooted in her multicultural upbringing with a Malaysian Chinese mother and a Singaporean Indian father. This rich blend of cultures inspired her love for cooking and creativity in the kitchen, where she enjoys fusing traditional Asian dishes with diverse spices and flavours.

Before her current role, she was Head Chef at Botanico and honed her skills at Stellar at 1-Altitude, Pollen, and Esquina. In 2019, she was named "Rising Chef of the Year" by the World Gourmet Summit, which led to a two-week stage at the renowned Mugaritz in Spain, where she further refined her contemporary cuisine skills.

Chef Victor epitomises modern culinary excellence, blending his diverse background into inventive and enjoyable dishes. Growing up in multicultural Sydney with Chinese heritage and being raised in Brunei by Malaysian parents, he seamlessly combines various culinary influences. His Melbourne restaurant, Lee Ho Fook, is renowned for its modern Chinese cuisine and has earned numerous accolades, including The Age Good Food Guide Two Hat Award for 2023-2024 and annual recognition in World’s 50 Best Discovery from 2019 to 2023.

At Quenino, Chef Victor’s vision shapes the restaurant’s concept and culinary identity, with Chef de Cuisine Sujatha Asokan bringing it to life through her leadership in the kitchen and ongoing menu evolution.
